Learn Spanish at Home in 4 Free Easy Steps

By Noah M. Benjamin

You can learn Spanish at home just as easily as you could learn in a school or even in another country. I should know -- this is exactly how I learned lots of my Spanish!

You will need to build a base in Spanish, and then IMMERSE yourself in the language.

1. Get a hold of good Spanish language learning software. Use this software for AT LEAST one hour a night for one week. This will provide you with a good base of Spanish. You will learn important grammatical structures and see how regular sentences are formed. Even once you move on to more advanced steps, keep at it with the software -- you will learn important vocabulary, even when you are nearing fluency!

2. Get some Spanish learning audio programs. Think about how much time you spend in your car. If you were to utilize that time to learn Spanish, you would be near fluent in no time! Turn off the radio, and put in a good Spanish learning audio program.

3. Once you have a good grasp of Spanish from the software, it is time to use some FREE resources online. These aren't the resources you'd expect, though! Stick with me here: the first thing I want you to do is find children's books online that are in Spanish, and I want you to read them! These books use VERY basic Spanish, but also use CORRECT Spanish and will teach you important, basic words. Do a search online for "children's stories in spanish" and you will find a ton of FREE resources. Spend about a week reading these stories, all while keeping with your Spanish learning software.

4. Next, move on to reading Spanish newspapers online. These are more advanced, but still use very basic language. Keep a Spanish-English dictionary or a free online translation tool handy so that you can translate sentences you don't understand. Spend one hour a day reading the newspaper in Spanish. You will struggle in the first week and have to translate almost everything using the online translation tool, but after a few weeks, you will find yourself reading fluently!

That's it! Those are the four most important steps to learn Spanish at home. I used this method and learned enough Spanish to be semi-conversational in just two months time. Best of all, this method involves very little cost, and is far more effective than any other costly method out there! Buena suerte!
