3 Tips to Help You Learn Spanish Fast

By M. A. Black

Throughout the world there are millions of people wanting to learn Spanish. They realise what a beautiful language it is, and want to become part of that. Others want to learn for career reasons or even for fun.

However, not everyone who starts to learn actually succeeds; most people start, only to then stop halfway through, and then eventually forget all that they have learnt. In this article, I will show you the 3 tips which will help you to speak Spanish fast.

1. Goals

Most people overlook this. They think: "I want to learn Spanish", not realising that there are millions of Spanish speakers, and their fluency varies greatly. For example, someone wanting to learn just for a holiday will need a very basic level of Spanish, perhaps, even just conversational; whilst someone wishing to learn Spanish for higher education will need a much higher level of Spanish. Fix your goals; this will allow you to gauge how you feel you are progressing, and it is this feeling which will influence your motivation.

2. Motivation

Ask yourself why you want to learn. It could be for a trip abroad, to converse with your Spanish-speaking neighbours, or even to improve your job prospects. Whatever the reason, keep that focus -- of why you are learning -- in mind. Tell yourself you will learn, and concentrate on that idea, imagining yourself as being fluent in the language. Often, people want to learn but they jut don't know why. This means that when a certain difficulty arises, they just stop altogether, as they think it's just not worth their time. They forget the real reason they initially wanted to learn, but if their motivation had been strong, they would not have forgotten.

3. Method

Having goals and motivation are both vital; now you need the right method to fulfil your desire to learn Spanish fast. Even with fixed goals and motivation, if your method is poor, you will end up stopping before you have succeeded. You will find yourself working hard, putting in the hours, but not making any real progress. The motivation will keep you going for a while, but eventually this will stop when you realise there is very little improvement in your Spanish. One of the problems with selecting a method is that there are many different methods available, and the trick is knowing which to choose that best fits your needs.

So, if you rememebr to keep track of these 3 things, you will find your Spanish learning is much more effective, and you will have a much greater chance of success. The goals and motivation will keep you in the right mindset, and the correct method will mean that you are using your time effectively.
