This is what all of the guys used to say at the company that I work at. I never challenged them on these remarks because I saw a chance to move up in the company and I didn't want that much competition. If I knew then what I know now I would have told them to save their job by starting to speak Spanish right then.
The president vice president and supervisors that I worked under thought that I was gifted and it must be easier for me to learn Spanish that the regular person. That was not true at all. Some people that I have worked around thought that I went to collage to learn the language that is not true either. As a matter of fact I was home schooled and only went to a local community collage to give it a try and only went to a couple of classes while there at that. You don't have to go to college to save your job and start speaking Spanish now it is actually easier to do from the comfort of your own home.
I have learned more from CD's and Computer programs than I could learn anywhere else. I think that is because when working with a computer or CD's in the privacy of my house or while riding down the road in my truck I was not as self conscience of how stupid I might sound and when you can throw caution to the wend you can learn much faster.
I am a construction worker in Charlotte North Carolina. More specifically a brick, block, and stone mason. I am one of the few people around that decided early on to learn how to speak Spanish in order to move up in that company here I worked. |
