The answer to "how to speak Spanish online" may surprise some people. No, it's not through online Spanish classes, or quick tutorials. I will get into the best way to learn how to speak Spanish online, but first, I want to explain how we best learn a new language.
When we were children, we learned our first language in about two years. We didn't study it, we didn't take classes in it. So how did we learn a language -- with absolutely NO prior knowledge of ANY language at all -- in such a quick time? Simple -- by immersing ourselves in that language. We were surrounded by our first language, so our brain ended up forcing us to learn it.
This is absolutely no different for learning another language, even though you are much more grown up by now. In fact, it is even EASIER to pick up a second language because of all the knowledge you already have from the first one you've learned!
I built my initial "base" in Spanish -- grammar, sentence structure, etc -- through language learning software that immersed me in the language while teaching the basics. I also supplemented with audio learning programs in my car because I wanted to "fast track" my Spanish.
After I built my base in Spanish, I supplemented the software with free online lessons. That's right -- FREE, but not the kind of lessons you'd expect.
First, I read children's books online. No joke -- they use VERY simple language, and are often illustrated, so I don't even need a dictionary to translate. Once I mastered those, I found Spanish newspapers online and read them, along with a free translation tool to understand passages that baffled me. I wrote down words I didn't know, their translations, and then studied them.
If you want to learn Spanish and FAST, you've got to IMMERSE yourself in the language. You can learn how to speak Spanish online this way using the tricks I mention above. This is how I learned Spanish in about two months. Buena suerte!
