To learn Spanish fast is much easier than you may think. It really is not that hard, once you know how. In this article, I want to share some tips with you on making your Spanish learning process much faster and easier.
Spanish Music
Check out Youtube and listen to Spanish music. Then take the title and search for it in Google. For example, go to Google and search for "billboard.com Latin music charts". You'll get a list of the top current songs. Now search for it on Youtube.
While you're at it, search for the lyrics too. Songs are a great way to learn a language - they normally include colloquial and modern phrases.
Expose Yourself To Spanish Language A Little Every Day
World famous polyglots (people who can speak many languages) recommend that you listen to some Spanish at least every day. By this, I don't mean that you need to bury your head in a textbook, not at all.
What I mean is, listen to Spanish radio for example, at least 10 minutes a day. The key is not that you understand much or any of it at all. But by exposing your brain to Spanish, your brain will become more receptive to it as you learn more.
It's simple and it definitely works.
Language Partners
As you get better, find yourself a language partner. With the internet this is easy. Just get yourself a microphone or, better still, a cheap headset. Then install Skype. Then you can find many language partners on the internet to converse in Spanish with.
Self Study Program
The above tips are great but they are of limited benefit if you are not pursuing a core self study program. What do I mean by this? What I mean is that formal classroom lessons are expensive and an inefficient way of learning a language. If you don't believe me then let me share a short story with you.
Giuseppe Mezzofanti was one of the world's famous polyglots. He never left Italy and yet spoke 38 languages fluently! He learned purely by self-study.
He was not a genius of any sort - many people do the same thing today, although they stop well before 38 languages! The best way to learn is on your own - a teacher cannot force your learning and you need to "internalize" it yourself.
I highly suggest that you find a good audio self study program. Other tools like books and computer programs can also help but the core must be an audio program.
