Learning Languages Made Easy!

By Kelly Winter

Does learning a new language sound daunting to you? If so, then maybe you just haven't found the right program to make it easy. When I was looking for a way to learn French, I knew that I wanted a course that I could take at my own pace and on my computer. I didn't want to carry around books or notepads or attend a classroom setting. I just wanted to sit at my computer, either at home or at work (on my breaks of course), and pick up where I last left off. I also knew that I get bored easily and so the course had to be able to keep my attention. For me, this meant it had to be interactive and fun at the same time. It also had to provide audio so that I could hear how a word or phrase was spoken allowing me to practice the correct pronunciation. Have you ever heard someone pronounce their words incorrectly (Stéphane Dion for example)? It can be really annoying for the listener and make the speaker appear foolish.

Anyhow, I wanted to learn French because, after all Canada is a bilingual nation, and I thought it was time for me to learn our second national language. I am also planning my dream vacation to Europe next year and I know that French is spoken, or at least understood, in many European countries.

I searched for courses online and about a zillion different courses popped up. I was looking for something I could try first before spending a lot of money so that I could see if it really worked. The one that impressed me the most was the Rocket Languages program. They offer a Free 6 Day Course and I liked that they had a money back guarantee. As soon as I made my decision to try this course, I was able to download the free version immediately and start using it right away. It was amazing how quickly I got through those first few lessons and it wasn't even 6 days before I bought the rest of the lessons. The course uses a variety of teaching methods such as:

  • Interactive Audio Lessons and Games

  • Grammar Exercises and Activities

  • Vocabulary and Verb Learning Games

  • Access to online French Teachers

I would absolutely recommend the Rocket Language program to anyone who's interested in learning a new language, especially students and travelers. The other language courses Rocket Languages offer are:

  • Spanish

  • German

  • Italian

  • Japanese

  • Chinese

  • Sign Language
