If you would like to learn basic Spanish words, then you should read this article. I am going to show you how you can lock Spanish words into your memory as quick as a flash. There are no tricks or gimmicks involved, just a simple technique that will allow you to remember anything.
By the end of this article, you will know a new Spanish word and how to create exercises to remember more of them. It will take a total of 10 seconds of your time and you will can remember the new word as long as you wish to.
The method we are going to use is similar to the method your brain currently uses to remember things- by association. Consider this: have you ever been somewhere and a certain smell (maybe perfume or the smell of cooking food) has reminded you of something? Sometime, in the past, you have associated a smell to something or someone. Your brain has locked that in and you have never forgotten it- you just needed to experience the trigger to bring it out of your memory.
We are going to do the same thing, but instead of using your sense of smell, we are going to use visuals. We will link an image and sound to a Spanish word. This will lock the Spanish word into your mind and give you perfect recall. Let's get started.
As you read the following exercise, think about the image for ten seconds and pay close attention to the bold words.
Arm (Spanish: brazo):
Imagine you pour molten brass on your arm.
Think about the above image for 10 seconds. Even try to feel the hot, molten brass burning your arm. After doing this, you will never forget that the Spanish word for arm is brazo.
