Learn to Speak Spanish - 5 Tips For Anyone to Easily Learn Spanish

By Chris J. McWilliams

Learn to speak Spanish - it's something that many people want to do but see a huge mountain of a learning curve before then and never get round to it. Or, worse still, they attempt it and struggle and put their studies on hold indefinitely. In this article, I want to share with you 5 great super tips on how to learn to speak Spanish quickly and effectively.

Tip From A Polyglot

What can we learn from Polyglots? These are the people Guiseppe Mezzofanti who studied on their own and acquired 38 languages despite never leaving his country. What does this tell us about language acquisition?

It tells us that traditional classroom teaching methods have failed generations of learners. Whilst you can learn this way, it is a struggle that most people find difficult to overcome.

Studying on one's own is the only way to truly understand and absorb a language fully. Now, let's look at more specific tips.

Listen To The Language Daily

Polyglots say that you should expose yourself to the language on a daily basis. I'm not talking here about studying books or listening to CDs. Even 10 minutes a day of Spanish radio is enough.

With the internet, you can easily find many Spanish language radio stations from all over the world.

Comic Books

These are a great way to learn. First of all, the language tends to be the simple, every day colloquial language that most people all the time. Secondly, the pictures can assist you in confirming different words that are new to you and make learning much faster.

Music

This is one of my favourite methods. Simply go onto Youtube and find some Spanish songs. Here are some example artists that you can search for: Celia Cruz, Alexandre Pires, Paluina Rubio and Alejandro Sanz.

Now, once you have found a song that you like, do a search on Google for lyrics. You'll easily be able to find them. Now you should have no trouble learning the song just like a regular English song. You'll also develop a totally authentic accent!

Audio Study

This is the best way to study. Remember how I said that classroom learning is inefficient? If you want Spanish learning to be easy then I highly recommend that you look into audio programs.

With audio programs, you listen, speak and then check yourself. A good course will evolve the learning in such a way that you don't need a textbook to remember anything. There is no rote memorisation needed at all!
