How to Learn Spanish Conversations With This 6-Step "Trick"

By Nathan Hayes

Here's the situation: you're new to Spanish and you want to pick up some phrases as quickly as possible. For now, you just want to learn a few good sentences, nothing fancy. Well, here's a neat trick to get you on the road to learning Spanish conversations. You won't become fluent in the language this way, but it's a good way to start.

The 6-Step "Trick" for the Beginner to Learn Spanish

  1. The first thing you need to do is go to your favourite search engine (Google?) and look up the following: free Spanish worksheets, free Spanish lessons and forums.

  2. The worksheets can help you review basic skills in Spanish like the alphabet, numbers, nouns, verbs, etc. They'll give you plenty of drills and exercises to do - after all, they aren't called worksheets for nothing. Now the free lessons are samples of full-blown Spanish courses (and get the kind that comes with audio tracks). It's a great way to try before you buy, but your goal here is to use them to compliment the worksheets. These are the two major ingredients you'll use to pull off your "trick." The forums will come later.

  3. Check out the results, visit the websites and download as many free Spanish worksheets and free lessons as you can. Put them together in a folder on your computer. Bookmark the forums

  4. Use the lessons and the worksheets everyday for 30 minutes for a month. Listen to the audio tracks that come with the lessons and do the exercises in the worksheets.

  5. Once you think you've absorbed enough, go to a Spanish forum and try out your new found Spanish there. Write your questions and responses in Spanish. Ask for feedback. How are you coming across?

  6. Repeat until you know enough Spanish to say a few phrases.

This is a great way for the beginner to learn Spanish conversations pretty quickly. You'll never become a master of the language this way, but it will help introduce you to this language. And it will give you the confidence to go ahead a take a full-blown course in Spanish perhaps.
