The benefits of learning Spanish are huge. If you want to learn the language quickly and well, you're going to have to get involved in a good "learn Spanish" course.
The only problem: most "learn Spanish" courses are awful, and will only hurt your language learning efforts!
(And the best ones are cheap and can be done at home. I'll be getting into that.)
Why sabotage all those cheap Latin American vacations you could take? All the job opportunities that can open up?
Think back to when you were in high school. You probably had to take two or more years of language classes.
These are the awful "learn Spanish" courses I'm talking about. How much of that language do you and your friends remember now?
And you spent TWO OR MORE YEARS learning it?
The Best Way To Learn A New Language
Let's try a quick experiment.
Think back to when you were a baby. (Or at least try.)
You came into this world without speaking a word of any language. And you obviously weren't able to take any language classes.
Yet, by age 2, you were speaking your first language pretty darn well.
Hmmm.... how did that happen?
It all happened through a process called "immersion"!
What Is Immersion?
Immersion is, simply put, the brain's preferred method of learning a new language -- or really anything at all!
It is the process of surrounding yourself with something, and giving your brain the chance to recognize the patterns and puzzles, and essentially to "solve" them subconsciously for you.
This is how you learned your first language. You were surrounded with the language all day and all night, and your brain did all the work for you.
Use Immersion To Learn Spanish
Most "learn Spanish" courses fail because they do not use immersion techniques. Instead they make you study and dissect the languages.
Don't waste your time with these courses! Find something that immerses you in the language, and you will learn Spanish in a fraction of the time it would take otherwise.
Oh yeah, and with a whole lot less work, too.
The Best Immersion Courses
Immersion techniques work great if you go to a good school that is up on the latest immersion research.
However, I've found that I learn best using immersion programs on my computer, as well as listening to immersion audio programs in my car.
Audio programs and software are actually super cheap if you know the right stuff to pick up, which I can show you.
From there, I actually used some free techniques to become even more fluent in the language -- again, all from home.
The Bottom Line
If you want a good "learn Spanish" course, make sure it uses immersion techniques. I recommend software and audio programs, and gradually moving onto more advanced (and free) exercises.
